Chapter 49

“In front of me... don’t you dare protect another bitch.”

Vivian warned him.

“You’re my prisoner. As the price for losing the war, you must serve as my knight. Don’t you dare interfere with my actions.”

“…Knock it off.”

Vivian snorted. She had no room to accept Kylo’s words at the moment.

“Fine, I’ll knock it off. So let go.”

She brushed away Kylo’s hand.

Vivian looked at Rani, who was clutching her cheek in shock.

“Rani Dubos.”

When she called her name, two terrified eyes met Vivian’s.

Vivian liked that. If she imprinted fear properly this once, it wouldn’t happen again.

“…I thought you came to this land wanting to be friends, but… turns out you were looking for a partner?”

Rani was at a loss. “No… I…” But Vivian wasn’t about to quell her fury over that.

“If you wanted a partner, you should’ve latched onto some boy soldier somewhere else… How dare you get tangled up with Kylo Allen?”

“Vi… Vivian…”

With a cold rage, Vivian pressed on:

“How dare you… with the son of the man who killed my father and brother… try whispering words of love?”

Rani couldn’t even mount a defense against Vivian’s wrath.

She dropped to her knees in an instant, pleading over and over.

“I’m sorry…! I’m sorry! Vivian, I must’ve gone insane…! I just… for a moment…!”

With a hardened expression, Kylo grabbed Rani by the arm and pulled her up.

Vivian felt her anger flare up again, but this time, she didn’t let it show.

Kylo Allen’s eyes said it all:

He was truly at the end of his patience.

Warning her not to cross that final line.

Vivian waited for Kylo’s reaction.

He helped Rani Dubos to her feet, brushing off the mud from her knees.

Then he approached Vivian, leaned in, and whispered:

“…We didn’t do anything.”

“…You…”

“I pushed her away.”

“…”

At Kylo’s confession, Vivian felt a large shard of her anger melt away in an instant.

She blinked and looked at him.

He continued:

“You’re worried I might find happiness, but nothing happened. Remember what happened last time with Serena. Like you said, I’ve stayed far away from anything that could make me happy. So… just stop now.”

“…”

Vivian glanced sideways at Kylo.

There wasn’t a trace of falsehood in his eyes.

Her anger had mostly subsided, but she still found it difficult to accept that they’d continued meeting behind her back while she had been naively holding herself in check.

Clinging to the last of her anger, Vivian spoke to Rani.

“Rani Dubos.”

“…Y-yes… yes…”

“I’ll settle this tomorrow. I’ll decide then whether to forgive you as a one-time mistake or to give you a fitting punishment.”

“…Sniff… yes…”

“…Get out of my sight.”

Rani bolted away the moment Vivian spoke.

Kylo’s eyes, trailing after Rani, were filled with a deep pity.

“Where do you think you’re looking?”

Vivian wouldn’t allow even that.

Kylo’s dark eyes turned back to her.

They were standing very close.

Despite their bodies being exposed, neither drew away.

Drops of water trickled from Kylo’s wet hair onto Vivian’s forehead.

Amidst the cold weather, his body radiated heat like firewood.

If she let her guard down, she might actually want to throw herself into his warmth.

Now that Rani had left, Vivian felt a new extreme emotion stirring.

Before she could even think, she placed her hand on Kylo’s chest.

“…Vivian.”

It was the same spot Rani had touched earlier.

But to Vivian, thinking of Kylo as her property, there was no hesitation.

“Did it feel good?”

She asked mockingly.

Her fingertips glided slowly downward, grazing his firm abs.

“When Rani Dubos touched you like this… did you enjoy it? Did it turn you on?”

“…”

She wasn’t sure why she was acting like this, only that she followed her impulses. The feeling beneath her fingers was addictive.

Biting her lip for a moment, Vivian looked back up at him.

“You put on such a strong front, but you sway so easily. In the end, you’re just an animal. Nothing but a savage.”

She kept prodding him with her barbs. It was the only way she knew to vent the anger burning inside her.

Kylo sighed quietly and spoke.

“I told you to knock it off.”

“Knock what off? Did I say anything wrong? If I’d left you and Rani alone a little longer, you’d have headed straight for the stable, wouldn’t you? You almost did something disgusting on my land.”

While speaking, Vivian found herself growing even angrier at her own words.

Realizing how reckless the situation had become simply for the sake of pressuring him, she understood that what was happening now was more intense than anything she’d experienced before.

Seething with anger, Vivian spoke:

“...Are you some kind of monkey? You turn sixteen, and then you go around sticking it into every girl you see.”

Kylo lifted his head very slowly, his gaze never leaving Vivian as his jaw clenched tight.

Still, Vivian continued.

“Disgusting. Vulgar… Kylo. I’m begging you... Don’t do that filthy crap in front of me.”

Biting her lip, she conveyed her feelings in words:

“...Because I feel like killing everyone involved.”

With that, Vivian turned on her heel and walked away.

She could feel the strength draining from her body.

If she released the tension even for a moment, she felt she might collapse onto the floor.

From the moment she turned, a surge of emotion she’d been holding back threatened to overflow.

She had no idea why she was acting like this, but tears felt dangerously close to the surface.

She couldn’t pinpoint why she was so hurt and frustrated. Perhaps she was upset because this was how their reunion after five days had turned out. Maybe it was betrayal over Kylo meeting Rani in secret. Or, possibly, she was in pain because of the terrible things she’d just said to him.

“Huh?!”

But right then, something grabbed her as she tried to walk away.

***

“Disgusting. Vulgar. Kylo, I’m begging you… don’t do that filthy crap in front of me. Because I want to kill everyone involved.”

Hearing Vivian’s words, I felt something snap inside.

What exactly did I do so wrong?

I tried so hard to push Rani away—why should I have to listen to this crap?

Is this how things had to go with Vivian, after not seeing each other for five days?

And she keeps treating me like some sex-crazed monster… I’ve never felt so wronged.

I had no intention of just taking it anymore.

If she insists on viewing me as some deranged pervert and won’t even listen to my explanation…

…Then I don’t see a reason to hold back.

I watched Vivian’s retreating figure.

Her thin nightgown clung to her entire body.

The changes in her figure stood out in stark relief.

Once I decided to let go, a scalding heat flared up inside me.

It had been so long since I’d last seen her, making the sensation even more intense. And having gone so long without her, I found the urge to resist slipping away rapidly.

It felt as if the instincts I’d been suppressing were finally unleashed, and my heart pounded like it was on the verge of bursting.

My blood was rushing downward against my will.

My ears rang with fury and excitement.

I followed after Vivian as she walked away.

Then, without hesitation, I grabbed her.

Wrapping my left arm around her waist and my right hand around her shoulder, I pulled her into me. She was far warmer and softer than I’d imagined, fitting perfectly in my arms.

“Huh!”

I heard her gasp in surprise.

But I held her tight, not giving her a moment to breathe.

I crumpled her body against mine, pressing my pelvis firmly against her backside.

It stung to be considered disgusting for no reason.

No pleasure—only guilt? If that’s how things are, I’ll at least claim my own pleasure.

The more anger I felt toward her, the more shamelessly I behaved.

“Go ahead and kill me.”

I gritted my teeth and whispered in her ear:

“You said you’d kill me if I pulled something so filthy. Then do it.”

Vivian went rigid, unable to speak.

Actually, the fact that she wasn’t moving made things easier for me.

From the moment her soft body pressed into my arms, my patience snapped completely.

I touched her as if to provoke her.

I gave her stomach a light pinch.

Slowly, I moved my right hand up toward her chest.

…Then I buried my face in the nape of her neck and breathed in her scent.

After that, I tried biting gently at her neck.

I wanted to bite down as hard as my anger demanded—so that she’d feel the pain I was feeling.

I thought if she screamed or shed tears because of me, maybe I’d feel better.

Of course, I couldn’t actually bite her that hard.

I was too worried about leaving a mark on her, so I fought that stronger urge with everything I had and bit her as gently as I could.

“Ugh…!”

She gasped in shock and began to struggle.

She tried to break free from me but couldn’t. I felt an undeniable sense of control over her.

A sadistic desire I’d kept buried seemed to be surfacing.

But once I’d let out enough of that pent-up emotion and felt a wave of satisfaction, I released her.

The moment I did, she wrenched herself from my arms and shoved me backward.

I didn’t resist, letting her push me until I thumped onto the ground.

“Haah…! Haah…!”

Vivian stared at me with wide, startled eyes.

She clutched the spot on her neck where I’d bitten her, panting for breath.

Not a trace of the rage she’d shown moments earlier remained.

Now, her expression was pure confusion.

Even in the darkness, I could see her face glowing red—like her hair.

Something about the sight made me laugh.

“This is what lust looks like.”

I said with a grin.

“…Haah…! Haah…!”

“…Got it now?”

Vivian couldn’t respond. She spun around and fled in a hurry.

It was amusing to see her drop all that tough pretense and run away.

She’d acted as if she wanted to devour me, kill me even. But after just one embrace, she turned redder than a rose and ran off. I couldn’t help but find it funny.

It was the first time in a while that I’d seen her look so much like a girl her age.

.

.

.

I remained sitting there in the rain.

My amusement at Vivian’s reaction faded quickly.

…Once she’d gone, and the rage and irritation had subsided a bit, a shallow remorse rose up in me.

Had I left a wound on Vivian that would never heal?

How was I supposed to face her now?

The worry was overwhelming.

“…Haah…”

I covered my face with my hands and let out a heavy sigh.

Then I flopped onto my back and lay there for a while, rain pouring down.

***

“Haah…! Haah…!”

Even after entering her room, Vivian couldn’t calm down.

Still soaking wet, she climbed into bed and pulled the blanket all the way over her head.

-Thump! Thump! Thump!

Her heart was pounding.

Her breathing was labored.

The tremor that felt like her heart might jump right out of her mouth refused to settle for even a moment.

She couldn’t put a name to these emotions.

She was confused.

She was flustered.

And beneath it all, there was a strange, unknown feeling rattling her even more.

She had always found lust repulsive and disgusting.

Whenever Madame Linne mentioned it, it only made her feel uneasy.

But now Kylo, son of her sworn enemy—her outright enemy—had directed that same filthy lust at her.

At her, of all people.

“...Haah…! Haah…!”

Vivian struggled for breath.

Every sensation from that moment clung to her body, replaying in vivid detail:

His hand pinching her stomach.

The awkward way he’d wrapped his arms around her.

The forearm that had briefly brushed against her chest.

His nose, breathing in her scent.

Something hard pressing against her backside.

And the place on her neck where he’d bitten her.

“…Ugh!”

Vivian winced, rubbing her neck as though in pain.

A faint trace of his bite remained where Kylo had sunk his teeth into her.

That slight ache still lingering there sent chills through her, as if the moment were happening all over again. She felt a tremor race down her spine.

It was her first time experiencing anything remotely sexual.

Because it was her first, these new sensations continued to unsettle her heart in ways she didn’t understand.

Vivian gripped the blanket tightly, her body trembling.

Even beneath the covers, she felt strangely cold.

Now that Kylo’s warmth was gone, the difference became even more pronounced.

Images of what had just happened kept replaying in her mind.

The smell of that moment, the heat, the feeling, the atmosphere.

None of it was fading; it was all etched clearly into her senses.

He had kept Serena at a distance, pushed Rani away… yet, without hesitation, he’d held Vivian so strongly like he wanted to break her—and bit down on her neck.

Vivian suddenly clutched at her chest.

Something was pounding heavily inside her.

She told herself a dozen times that this couldn’t continue.

She couldn’t understand this feeling in any rational way.

She hated Kylo—felt only loathing for him—yet he had shown her this revolting lust…

…And through it all, a dizzy, sweet sense of happiness kept seeping in, as though her mind might melt from it.
